British artist Curtis Holder joins the panel of selectors for the Derwent Art Prize 2024

I am honoured to have been invited to be a selector for the international Derwent Art Prize 2024..

Created in 2012 by Derwent, the fine art brand known for its high-quality pencils, the Derwent Art Prize rewards excellence in contemporary graphic art.

The prize invites artists to submit the very best 2D and 3D artworks created in any pencil medium, including colour, water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal pencils. Now in its 7th edition, the competition has attracted more than 20,000 entries from 75 countries.

Work by 80 artists will be selected to appear in an international exhibition in the beating heart of London’s Southbank at gallery@OXO. The competition also awards prizes to winning artists worth £13,000.

This year’s entries will be judged by Sergio Gomez, artist and curator; Curtis Holder, award-winning artist; Valerie Sonnier, artist and professor; and Helen Waterss, Director at Cristea Roberts Gallery.

Artists have until 04 January 2024 to submit online up to six works created in pencil. Good Luck!
