National Theatre, South Bank, London
The National Theatre’s first ever Artist in Residence, Curtis Holder, has explored every corner of the theatre’s vast backstage areas selecting ‘makers’ to be part of this solo exhibition. The works are a love letter to the dynamic creatives who work behind the scenes to bring the productions to life.
His subjects range from wigs, hair and make-up assistants, to prop and puppet makers, costume makers, technicians, and a stage door supervisor. Normally it’s their work that captivates audiences, but this exhibition puts them centre-stage and celebrates the people behind the craft.
