Drawing Biennial 2026

Drawing Room’s 12th Drawing Biennial brings together over 200 original A4 works on paper by artists from around the world, each invited to respond in their own way to the possibilities of drawing today.

The exhibition highlights new voices alongside established practitioners, reflecting the breadth and diversity of contemporary drawing practice.

20/20: Futures celebrates twenty artists who undertook residencies with UK public collections as part of 20/20, a three-year programme by UAL’s Decolonising Arts Institute addressing racial inequalities in the arts.

The exhibition presents new works across textiles, film, drawing, photography, sculpture, and sound, highlighting conceptual, thematic, and material connections.

Seeing Each Other: Portraits of Artists

Curtis Holder won Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year in 2020 and was commissioned to draw Birmingham Royal Ballet’s director, Carlos Acosta.

This exhibition brings together portraits Curtis made during the competition and his working sketches, showing his journey towards the final portrait and telling the story in his own words.
