Join Carlos Acosta and Curtis Holder in Conversation at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

I am excited to invite you to join a special conversation with Carlos Acosta, Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet, and myself, chaired by Ian Sergeant, Senior Curator of Global Majority Collections at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

In 2020, I won the Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year competition, which led to a commission to create a portrait of Carlos for the city’s collection. During this conversation, we will talk about the process of working together on the portrait, sharing our experiences as creative artists and what it was like to collaborate on this piece.

The portrait is currently on display at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, alongside other works created during the competition.

You can book tickets for the event, which takes place on Wednesday 7 May, from 6-7 pm, on the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery website.
