Leeds Museums and Galleries acquires collection of works by Curtis Holder

I am delighted to share that a collection of my drawings has been acquired by Leeds Museums and Galleries.

The acquisition has been made possible with support from Arts Council England, the V&A Purchase Grant Fund, alongside the Leeds Art Fund. The works were developed during an 18-month residency at Leeds Art Gallery as part of 20/20, a national commissioning initiative led by the University of the Arts London Decolonising Arts Institute, which connects artists with public collections across the UK and supports new acquisitions.

The collection includes preparatory drawings of eight individuals with a close connection to Leeds, as well as three final portraits. The work focuses on the relationships developed with each of the sitters over the course of the residency.
