Collection of works by Curtis Holder acquired by Leeds Museums and Galleries

I am delighted to share that a collection of my drawings has been acquired by Leeds Museums and Galleries.

The acquisition has been made possible with support from Arts Council England, the V&A Purchase Grant Fund, alongside the Leeds Art Fund. The collection includes preparatory drawings of all the subjects involved in the project, as well as three of the final portraits. These works were created in 2024 during an 18-month residency at Leeds Art Gallery.

The residency formed part of 20/20, a large-scale commissioning initiative led by the University of the Arts London Decolonising Arts Institute. The focus of the residency was centred on the relationships developed with eight individuals who have a close connection with Leeds.
