Curtis Holder leads Emotional Portraiture retreat with Dulwich Art Group and School

I am delighted to be leading Emotional Portraiture, a week-long portrait drawing retreat organised by the Dulwich Art Group and School and Mediterranean Retreats, taking place from 13–20 June 2026 in Casares, Spain.

Set in the Andalusian hills, the retreat offers a relaxed and supportive environment for artists of all levels to explore portrait drawing through sustained work with a model, group sessions and guided demonstrations. The programme focuses on developing a deeper sensitivity to the emotional and psychological dimensions of portraiture while encouraging participants to explore their own materials and visual language.

Participants will produce a series of portrait studies during the week alongside a more resolved drawing from the model.
