Curtis Holder exhibits in Contemporary British Portrait Painters: The 2026 Exhibition
My drawing Ashley Karrell (2024, coloured pencil on paper, 150 × 123 cm), a portrait of artist and photographer Ashley Karrell, will be included in Contemporary British Portrait Painters: The 2026 Exhibition which returns to The Department Store in Brixton this June.
The exhibition brings together more than 50 artists working across painting, drawing and experimental approaches, showcasing the many directions in which contemporary portraiture is evolving today.
Alongside the exhibition, there will be live demonstrations and opportunities to gain behind-the-scenes insights into artistic practice. Follow @thecbpp for the full programme and latest updates.
Most works will be available for purchase and, as CBPP takes no commission, every sale directly supports the artists.
CBPP is an artist-led collective comprising some of the most dynamic and recognisable names in British portrait painting and drawing today, each contributing a unique voice to the evolving story of portraiture in the UK.
Contemporary British Portrait Painters: The 2026 Exhibition runs from 6–14 June 2026, 10am–5pm daily, at The Department Store, 248 Ferndale Road, Brixton, London SW9 9FR.
