Curtis Holder and Charmaine Watkiss in conversation on the Understanding British Portraits podcast
I am delighted to be featured in Understanding British Portraits: Episode One - Contemporary Drawing and Storytelling, produced by the Understanding British Portraits Network in collaboration with the National Portrait Gallery.
The episode brings together artists Curtis Holder and Charmaine Watkiss to discuss the relationship between contemporary portrait drawing and visual storytelling. Through conversation, the artists reflect on their respective drawing practices and the ways narrative can be embedded within portraiture.
Chaired by Tanya Bentley, Contemporary Curator at the National Portrait Gallery in London, the discussion also considers wider developments in contemporary portrait drawing and how artists use the medium to explore personal histories and overlooked narratives.
The episode is now available to listen to online.
